The Trash Free Gulf campaign, a program of the Gulf Trust, is presented by H-E-B’s Our Texas, Our Future. We are working with partners across Texas in May 2026 to conduct litter cleanups in every major watershed and along the coastline. We can turn the tide together by keeping our local waters clean — for Texas and beyond. Through our collective efforts at home, we can ensure our waterways thrive and create a lasting impact downstream.

Our Mission

To prevent trash from reaching our waterways and the coast and raise awareness of Texas’ outsized role in the health of our rivers, lakes, and oceans. We aim to:

  • Connect Texans with their waterways and the Gulf

  • Reduce individual and corporate use of single-use plastics and polystyrene foam

  • Prevent trash from reaching our waterways and ocean

  • Recycle properly and support the use of more recyclable materials
